Benjamin Moore Color Of The Year for 2018 Is Caliente AF-290

Benjamin Moore has just announced that their 2018 color of the year is  Caliente AF-290. It's a striking red color that is well suited for a Dining Room in my opinion.

Over the years Eco Star Painting has painted many Calgary dining rooms red but this color from Benjamin Moore has to be one of the most appealing and  vibrant tones. What I mean is that it isn't a translucent red which can take several coats to cover properly. Benjamin Moore Caliente AF-290 has a lot of black tint in it which brings out an energetic richness. This also results in a red that hides very well needing only 2 coats to cover properly.

I could also see this color used as a feature wall in a living room or bedroom. The photo above has a contrasting white wall near the window. The brilliant white ceiling also adds to the tremendous contrast. The medium brown hardwood floor is a nice match too.

One of my favorite paints in the world is Benjamin Moore Regal Select. In my opinion, it is easier to work with than their top of the line Aura brand but still one of their best paint lines. I believe it retails for about $65 a gallon in Calgary.

For walls, I would suggest either a matte or eggshell sheen in the Regal Select line.
